This is my favorite pizza place here in Salem, Oregon. It is called "Straight from New York" and it is located downtown. I could eat there everyday! If you are ever in Salem and you like pizza, you gotta try this place.
I was playing around with Picnik trying a different look for this picture, so, please give me some feedback! Thanks everyone for looking at my pictures and leaving comments!

I took Gabe to DMV today to get his permit. He took the test and passed it (on the first try!) We have to go back tomorrow to get the actual 'permit'. This is new territory for Jeneé and I as he is our first son to learn how to drive. Hopefully we can spend some time during Spring break teaching him, and have some father-son bonding time.

I took this picture today while downtown Salem, Oregon. This is an old street lamp/light that works on gas. I like their style and how cool they look against the bricks. This is by The Busick Court restaurant, which is a great place to eat.

I was organizing some old picture galleries in Adobe Lightroom when I came across this photo Gabe took while we were downtown Salem a while back. This is one of the several alley ways we have and when spring starts, these branches will have leaves and it will look even nicer. I like how deserted this is and the combination of bricks.

Eli was baptized today during church service. Gabe and I photographed the event. A couple of people who were not able to get in the water were baptized using this bowl and cup, and water was poured on their heads. Gabe took this cool picture and it seemed appropriate for the situation.

Gabe and I were testing our cameras since we will be shooting a baptism at our church tomorrow (Eli will be one of the people being baptized). We decided to try to take a picture of each other at the same time the flash was firing. I was able to capture the SB600 he was using, and it turned out to be a fun picture for today.

Gabe and I were helping some friends move tonight and he took this picture of a light fixture at their house. I didn't have a chance to take picture today, but when I was going through the memory card, I found this picture that I really liked. The colors on the wall seem amazing to me. Once again, I am using one of Gabe's picture for the Daily Picture gallery.

I wanted to thank you all who left some kind comments on my daily pictures. Our family really enjoys reading what you have to say. Thank you again.

While waiting for Gabe to finish his guitar lesson today I took this picture of my truck's stick shift. My 1996 Ford F150 still runs great, with only 120,000 miles on it. I like the fact that it is a manual transmission, which is not found in newer trucks as often anymore. Gabe wants it to be his truck someday...

Gabe took today's Daily Picture. Since he has to dress up as character from the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" and he chose Tom Robinson. He gets extra credit for taking a 3D prop, so, he decided to take this pair of handcuffs, which are 15 years old (but still work).

I decided to use one more picture from the carnival we had last Saturday at our kids' school since I am still processing some of them... This is from the miniature golf game we had. I just liked the simplicity of this picture.

Since it is Sunday, I wanted to find a nice church picture. I did not have a chance to take any pictures today, so I decided to use this one that I took last year. I really like how this picture turned out - and since I just happened to come across it again, it made sense to use as a Daily Picture.

We had our carnival at Salem Academy today and Eli had a great time. For a brief moment there were no other kids around since they were all watching the talent show - and Eli made a run to the "bouncing castle". He had it all for himself - this is a picture of him doing a flip. However, soon enough Noah and a friend joined him...

We spent the day setting up for Salem Academy's Western Carnival for tomorrow. I took some pictures of the different booths we will have for the kids. This photo was taken at the Candy Corral booth. I like how the colors turned out good on this one.

While in Portalnd, Oregon I came across this art piece in one of the buildings I was passing through. I hope it's OK to photograph someone else's art work. This art piece was in the middle of a room, with mirrors on both sides, which gives this feeling of 'eternity'. Pretty cool.
(PS. It was challenging to take this picture without me being in it.)

When I got home today around 2pm I looked up and noticed that the moon was out. It is not often that we get to see the moon on a blue sky day, like today. Nothing fancy, just blue sky, little bit of clouds, and the moon.

While taking picture of the Jason Lee church yesterday, Gabe captured a close up of the window you can see on my picture. This time I left it in color. I like how this dove is in the center of the picture...

I drove by this church this morning, but I did not have my camera with me. So, I came back later because I thought it would've made a great Daily Picture... I think this is the angle I like best, even though I don't care much for the sign in front of it. The building looks cool to me.
Gabe contributed to today's picture again. He was experimenting with different angles after cleaning his guitars today and I like how this picture turned out. We added the round corners during pp.

Today's Picture of the Day was taken by Gabe. We have a new coffee place near his school that just opened and he was waiting in line for 45 min to get his free coffee... well, seems like he was a little bored and creative :-) and he used his new Blackberry phone to take this picture. It's really amazing to think that we now have cell phones with 3.2 megapixel cameras, and even higher...

Eli had "Colonial Day" at school today and the kids had fun dressing up, learning how to make butter, placemats, candles, and dolls like this one. He had a great time wearing this hat that his Grandma made for him.

I've been playing with Picnik too -- it's really easy to use, which is good for me considering I don't have a clue how to do proper pp. I like this effect -- and very cool colors!
